Concept Art For Unused ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ Costume Designs

Three pieces of concept art have surfaced online which give us three very different (and unused) Spider-Man suit designs for Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. While the suit we were shown in 2010 remained fairly true to the comics, the designs that Sony was considering for Andrew Garfield certainly attempted to push the envelope.
What do you think of the alternate designs?

Andrew Garfield will return on May 2, 2014 in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field and Chris Cooper and will arrive in theaters on May 2, 2014.

Rest in Peace to a Family Guy character!!

Major spoiler from last night’s Family Guy (“Life of Brian”) ahead!

We should’ve been prepare for this. The dog always dies eventually in these types of stories, right? And yet, I don’t think anything could have prepared us for Brian’s brutal death, which was so ordinary, it’s almost disturbing. One minute he’s preparing for a fun game of street hockey with Stewie and the next, he’s being run over by a car and serving as the set-up for the second part of the episode. As if to confirm the unbelievable -- that Brian really is gone -- Fox has released a tribute video, which relives his gory death scene and also some of the dog’s finer moments, including the infamous ipecac puke scene. (“
Who wants chowder?)

As I said, he died getting run over by a car, as so many family pets do. Considering he was dodging sharp and shiny weapons with Stewie earlier in the episode, having spent the first act traveling through time and trying to undo a pretty drastic alteration Stewie made to history, it seems all the more ridiculous that his demise could be due to such ordinary circumstances. And after a sad farewell and a funeral, the episode moved on to Brian’s replacement, Vinnie, a a wise Italian-American dog with evident grief counseling abilities.

It’s kind of impossible to imagine
Family Guy without Brian, as the talking dog has always been a huge presence in the long-running Fox animated series. Whether he was traveling through time with Stewie, hanging out with Peter or crushing on Lois, Brian has been a part of the Griffin family forever. Or for fourteen years, technically. His departure, assuming its as permanent as it seems, feels like a major turning point for the series. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Stewie might be able to figure out a way to get his hands on some capacitors so he can build a new time machine and bring Brian back somehow. In the meantime, RIP Brian. You will be missed.

‘Flash’ to Head New Series, Introduced in ‘Arrow’ Season 2

The CW is looking to its breakout freshman hit to give birth to a new superhero series. CW president Mark Pedowitz used his platform Tuesday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour to announce that his network is fast-tracking Flash, a drama based on the famed DC Comics hero and member of the Justice League of America. The network will look to Arrow co-creators/executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter to introduce the lightning-fast character during the second season of Arrow. “We plan to introduce the recurring character of Barry Allen who is the Flash,” Pedowitz told reporters. “We’re planning an origin story and we’ll see how it goes. We do want to expand on DC Universe, and we felt this is a very organic way to get there.”

Oh DP...Youll find another deranged chick someday!!

The Green "Arrow" gets masked!!!

Our hooded vigilante, the Green "Arrow" will be donning a mask in the up and coming 9th episode of this season called 'Three Ghosts' airing December 11th.&nbspAccording to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, the answer is multi-faceted. ”Conceptually, it was something we wanted to do because Oliver himself is evolving as the Arrow– from vigilante to hero, sort of from Arrow to Green Arrow — and we wanted to see that progression in his costume as well,” he said. “As Oliver is embracing being a hero, being a hero means stepping out of the dark and being more of a symbol, so he has to stake steps to conceal his identity more.”

Adding a mask also comes with logistical benefits, he said. In the second season, Oliver has found himself working much more closely with several people who don’t know his true identity — like Laurel’s father Det. Lance, for example — and it was getting harder and harder to believably hide Oliver’s face under the hood. “It’s going to allow the Arrow to interact with people who don’t know his identity in a much more organic way than having him constantly keep his head down,” says Kreisberg.

Who wouldnt like to see a Avenger/Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D cross over?

Recently...Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Marvel fans got excited over the heavily referencing of Thor: Dark World in one of the episodes. We were all hoping that the Joss Whedon-helmed show would throw us a couple of bones and make more in-Marvel Comic Universe references and, somewhat naively, we were keeping our fingers crossed for a cameo by an Avenger at some point. Well lets all hail mr. Joss Whedon as he writes in yet another cross over including our favorite well aged, super soldier known as Captain America.
An anonymous source first tipped off ComicBook.com about a strong connection between the S.H.I.E.L.D. plotline in
Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. starring in the ABC show. In this case...This episode will be released before Captain America: Winter Soldier.

Whedon chatted with TV Guide, saying:

We're trying to flesh out the world. The Marvel brand carries with it a lot of familiar faces. We’re trying to flesh out the world of S.H.I.E.L.D. with the established characters and the characters we’re introducing to build out the larger organization that we operate in.

Then when the subject of The Winter Soldier came up specifically, Joss has this to say:

Nick Fury [Samuel L. Jackson] is in that one, and S.H.I.E.L.D. makes an appearance, so we will definitely try to tee-up some stuff and probably play a little bit of the fallout from that film. We’re hoping to do some cool stuff.

What do you think? Excited about the announcement? Will these types of nods to the greater Marvel Universe make you more inclined to watch the generally not-so-acclaimed TV show? Are you more or less excited to watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier, compared to Thor 2 or Iron Man 3?
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays on ABC at 8 PM (EST).
Captain America: The Winter Soldier premieres on April 4th, 2014.
